The Best Clothing Shaver for eBay Sellers
When we first started selling on eBay, we were super excited to find a tutorial online which guided us on how to remove pills from clothing. It immediately opened up the possibility for us to buy pilly clothing that others had thrown back, revamp it, and sell it for a huge profit. Eventually, we ended up writing an article about how to save pilly clothes and it become one of the most popular articles on the site! Time have moved on however and so did we. The Dritz Clothing Shaver which we had once reccomended crumbed to dust (literally), ripped up our fingers, and left bits of rock all over our clothes. When it came time to buy another, we started looking for something new...something better. Which led us to electric fabric shavers!
Kirstie remembered that she had one. Luckily we had a Lambswool Cardigan in our death pile which was too fragile for the stone that we could try it out on. Battery powered. Sucked. The batteries in it and two additional sets of batteries. While the sweater did come out looking great, we spent $6 in batteries to make improve a sweater that we originally paid less than $2 for at the Goodwill Bins. There had to be a better option. Which led us to electric shavers with a cord!
While it's not the cheapest option, we have tried 3 different shavers in our young lives and this is the only one we'd spend our hard earned money on. It has everything we were looking for, including:
It has to be said here that a clothing shaver does not do as good of a job as a sweater stone. It does not cut as deep and remove as much material. However, it is 10x as fast and less messy! We use it to improve our items and simply don't bother picking up items that are too far gone to use an electric shaver on. It has served other uses too as we've used it on blankets, socks, and more! We've even heard of people using it on a whole couch (although I wouldn't want to tax the motor that hard). If you are on the fence, get off the fence and to a computer so you can order one! Whether you sell on eBay or simply want the best sweater shaver to save your own clothes you can't go wrong.
