Today flew by but thankfully the eBay sales kept pace! We didn't really sell anything surprising today but still, check out our top sales and be on the lookout! Constant Vigilance! Top 4 SalesItem: NWT Vintage A.H. Fowler Camouflage Puffy Vest
Paid Price: $5.99 Sale Price: $42.46 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: I'd never heard of A.H. Folwer but when I saw these vintage vest NWT I threw it in my cart so fast it it almost caught fire! It sat for a few months and I refused several offers from a buyer who ended up buying it at full price after all! Never give in! Unless you need the money to pay eBay fees....

Our Sales have been drizzling in bit by bit. Today was a high day with 8 sales which really helped us out! We just paid for flight to Costa Rica later in the summer straight out of eBay profits! Being financially stable is the eventual goal but the idea of selling on eBay is simply to allow us to live as we please! Top 4 SalesItem: UMBRO XXL Manchester United Sweater
Paid Price: $4.99 Sale Price: $34.95 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: Umbro is a maker of sports attire (specifically jerseys). A sweater such as this one in a 2XL was a no brainer to pick up. Sold in less than an hour! We didn't have any terribly exciting sales today, just a few consistent ones. The kind of middle of the road profit type sales that are the bread and butter of any real eBay store. There are a few brands however that we thought we'd share with you so you can be on the lookout for them! Top 3 SalesItem: Crocs Sanrah Women's Wedge Sandals Paid Price: $2.99 Sale Price: $24.50 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: Crocs are always something to be on the lookout for! These were new but they don't have to be. The more unusual they are the better. Normal Crocs are a dime a dozen and got for about that on eBay. If you see something and think, "I didn't know Crocs made something like that..." or the more likely, "Holy crap those things are ugly!" then you've probably found a winner. Item: prAna Full Zip Men's Jacket Paid Price: $5.99 Sale Price: $29.50 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: prAna is a medium high end end brand that typically makes active wear. This jacket a difficult sell because we had no idea what to title it as and couldn't find another one like it. We ended up selling it as a "prAna Full Zip Rasta Jacket." Item: Gibson Sacred Tour Shirt - NWT Paid Price: $2 Sale Price: $20.00 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: When I awoke in the morning to see that someone had put in an offer on this coat I was shocked....I have no idea how it ended up being posted with the "Best Offer" option highlighted. Luckily the person was nice and offered $20. We accepted and packaged up the coat after it had been listed for only a couple days. London Fog is a great brand to pick up if the item is decently priced and in great shape. There is plenty of beat up vintage London Fog clothing that is worth almost nothing. Just make sure to look it up before buying it! Daily TotalsNumber of Sales: 3
Cash Flow In: $74.45 Amount Spent on Inventory Sold: $11 Total Returns: 0 Total Profit before shipping: $63.45 Total Spent on New Inventory:$0 BIG Sales...now how to ship it...We're still working on chipping away at our eBay fees for this past month and today's sales really helped! Never be afraid of shipping huge things. We shipped a monstrous box today that weighed 50 pounds and measure 20x20x24 all the way to Florida! Luckily the thing we sold was unique enough that the buyer was willing to pay the almost $65 in shipping. Never be afraid! Just get a bigger box! Item: Ampex 900 Reel to Reel Tape Player Paid Price: $25 Sale Price: $250 (offer accepted) Shipping: Buyer Paid (Thank Goodness) Notes: We saw this thing sitting on the electronics bench at Goodwill and looked it up on a whim. There was one other on eBay that was listed at almost $500. A quick look into completed showed that the person was just guessing on the price and it had been relisted multiple times. This thing sat around for a month or two before we got around to listing it. The thing is...we didn't want to ship it! It measured 20x10x13 and weighed over 40 pounds. So we put it on bid starting at $299,95. It got tons of views and some watchers but nobody took the bait. When that listing ended unsold we placed it on a BIN with best offer. Someone offered $200 within an hour which we didn't accept. To make it worth it to us to ship this thing we really wanted to make $200 on it. It sat for a month or so before the same person came back and offered $250. This time we jumped on it! Lots of bubble-wrap and newspaper later and it's off to Florida! Item: Gibson Sacred Tour Shirt - NWT Paid Price: $5.99 Sale Price: $43.50 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: I would have bought this shirt even without the Tags! There are lots of shirts that people would buy...if only they could find them! I have several shirts listed right now that will sell for a good price...if I can just figure out what the person looking for them would search. This one was obvious! A Gibson Tour Shirt! Ba-boom! Sold in less than a month. Item: Women's Shape Ups - Sz 6.5 Paid Price: $4.99 Sale Price: $33.00 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: If you've ever checked out our BOLO Lists, you know that we have a penchant for Skechers Shape-Ups! These always sell sooner or later. These sold on the later side taking over a month to move on from our storage. Daily TotalsNumber of Sales: 4
Cash Flow In: $326.50 Amount Spent on Inventory Sold: $0 Total Returns: 0 Total Profit before shipping: $290.52 Total Spent on New Inventory:$0 Yikes...So our eBay fees for the past month have been invoice and let me tell you...we're still recovering! We normally try to pay our account fees when they reach $200 so they don't have a chance to creep up on us. But this past month what with business and trips we never got around to checking them and knocking them back down. Long story short...we ended up with an even $500 in fees! Time to put things on sale to pay them! Lucky fees aren't "due" until the 15th so hopefully we have some good sales before then.
Weekend SalesThe weekend is here and so are the sales! Not a ton of them, but enough to keep things moving. Throughout the weekend our sales are always high and sometimes throughout the week we're just holding on a praying for Sunday to come fast! Top 3 eBay SalesItem: Arc'Teryx Half Zip Fleece Pullover Paid Price: $4.99 Sale Price: $57.16 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: High end outdoor gear is one of the best things to flip. Arc'teryx gear is a step above North Face and this pricing is about what you can expect from a fleece pullover. I've found a couple button downs and t-shirts but no luck so far with a coat. If you do manage to find a coat, expect to give $200+ for it! Item: Tory Burch Wide Leg Trouser Jeans Paid Price: $2 Sale Price: $29.95 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: When we were out of town visiting family we decided to take a trip to the local savers. Lucky for us it turned out to be "Two Dollar Tuesday!" when everything with a certain color tag is $2. On these days you find two kinds of things, total junk that people have passed over...and things that Savers way overpriced. These Tory Burch jeans fit into the latter catagory. They were priced at $24.99!! This is a killer deal if you're looking for them for yourself, but nobody going in to Savers, particularly re-sellers, is looking to pay that much for a pair of jeans. Not only that, but these were in the men's section. Overpriced and and mis-catagorized? A re-sellers dream! We paid $2 for these jeans (MSRP $180) and priced them to move! We bought a total of 7 pair of jeans which would have cost us $111 from Savers on any other day. Lucky for us, $14 was enough and we can price them to move and still make a great profit! Item: Alfani Dean Men's Black Boots Paid Price: $15 Sale Price: $34.95 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: Did someone just blog about these or something? I had a black pair and brown pair that sat for several months and both sold in the past week. Maybe it's the season or just something in the air! Not a high profit but it's good to have them gone! Daily TotalsNumber of Sales: 4
Cash Flow In: $140.05 Amount Spent on Inventory Sold: $26.98 Total Returns: 0 Total Profit before shipping: $113.07 Total Spent on New Inventory:$0 Some days are hot...Sales really slowed down the last half of this week. We pushed things by putting them on sale, dropping some prices, and listing new things. We're not very patient sellers some times! haha We did have a couple sales worth nothing though so here they are for your enlightenment and enjoyment! Top 3 SalesItem: Rockport Toloni Leather Ankle Boots - Men's Size 7.5 Paid Price: $4.99 Sale Price: $40 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: These boots were perfect in every way...except that I had them in a completely unremarkable size. A size 7.5 can be found anywhere at anytime. Larger sizes always sell well but these sat around for a couple months before I accepted an offer on them. *The buyer messaged me and asked if these fit true to size...well...as I wear a size 13 I couldn't very well put them on and tell him. So the best thing to do in this circumstance, is to find the product on Amazon! I read enough Amazon reviews to realize that these fit true to size and a little on the large size if anything. I passed this information onto the buyer and just today they let me know that they're perfect! Success! Item: Vintage Distressed Leather Cole Haan Brogues (Size 13) Paid Price: $2.99 Sale Price: $21.99 Shipping: FREE! Notes: When I'm digging through t-shirts I only grab ones that can go for at least $20. I usually start shirts at 19.99 with free shipping unless they're Affliction shirts. Affliction shirts I always put on a BIN between $19.99 and $24.99 (depending on the size...bigger is higher). Item: Vintage Distressed Leather Cole Haan Brogues (Size 13) Paid Price: $4.99 Sale Price: $21.96 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: There was nothing too remarkable about this suit...except that it looks amazing! Retro men's swim suits are always hot sellers and one like this with this tags still attached was probably priced low. It did sell in less than a week though so no complaints here. Daily TotalsNumber of Sales: 4
Cash Flow In: $114.74 Amount Spent on Inventory Sold: $32.97 Total Returns: 0 Total Profit before shipping: $81.77 Total Spent on New Inventory:$0 On the up and up!We had some time to take some pictures, measurements, and crush some listings today! We listed around 25 items which seems to appease eBay's algorithms. I've noticed that the more active I am with listing/relisting items, the more items I sell. I'm not sure if it gives us a prioritization bump in eBay searches, more people follow items through to the store, or what...but it just seems to work! Top 4 SalesItem: Men's Johnston and Murphy "Melton" Cap Toed Shoes Paid Price: $7.99 Sale Price: $52.76 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: At $7.99 these shoes were a no brainer to pick up. Johnston & Murphy makes expensive shoes for both dress and casual wear. I have a pair of suede chukka boots that have been sitting forever but much to our elation these sold within a week! Item: Women's Skechers Tone-Up Flip Flops Paid Price: $2.99 Sale Price: $24.50 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: We've sold a copule pair of these Tone-Up flip flops but these went for the highest price yet. They had everything going for them, trendy aztec pattern, a lazy way to get in shape, and no longer available in stores! Even being a size 6, these sold within 2 days. Item: True Religion Brand Full Zip Jacket Paid Price: $11.99 Sale Price: $61.56 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: This jacket is a true survivor. It has continued to hang out in our storage unit through many sales, price reductions, and even a re-photographing. It seemed to be content to sit on eBay garnering watchers (It was up to 9 I think...) before selling for $61.56. True Religion clothing is *always worth picking up and *usually sells fast. Be very careful though as this is one of the most widely faked brands. Spend the time in the store to look up the signs of authentic True Religion jeans so you don't get taken as we have in the past. Item: Vintage Distressed Leather Cole Haan Brogues (Size 13) Paid Price: $4.99 Sale Price: $25.50 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: This sweater had lots going for it. Good subject matter, a good name (Woolrich), good age, and good condition. Even though it was cotton instead of wool this sweater sold within a couple of weeks. Unusual or vintage Woolrich clothing usually sells well. The only genre of clothing from Woolrich that we've haven't had any luck with is new button downs. Be sure to research them well before buying and when in doubt, avoid them. Daily TotalsNumber of Sales: 7
Cash Flow In: $235.74 Amount Spent on Inventory Sold: $49.94 Total Returns: 0 Total Profit before shipping: $176.66 Total Spent on New Inventory:$0 Two for One Sales!By "Two for one sales..." I mean that yesterday was such a crappy sales day on eBay that I'm not going to grace it with its own post! We sold a solitary pair of shoes. But lucky for them, they get to be included today! Item: Lululemon Racerback Tank-Top - Size 6 Paid Price: 4.20 Sale Price: $26.39 Shipping: Free! Notes: Lululemon is a high end maker of workout clothes for women. People are always on the lookout for their clothing which makes them a quick easy sale! This would have sold for the $29.99 it was listed for but when it sold on sale we celebrated anyway! Item: Burton Full Zip Fleece Jacket - Men's Size Large Paid Price: $5 Sale Price: $25.96 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: High end fleece always sells, and no does Burton! Not that Burton is high end, but put the two together and you've got a winner! This was a heavy fleece that sat for only a month or so. Be sure to pick up heavy fleece as people are always on the lookout for it. Columbia fleece jacket and pullovers on the other hand....have been sitting in our storage unit for months! Item: Men's Nike Lunaracer - Size 12.5 Paid Price: $8.99 Sale Price: $34.99 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: If I ever buy anything Nike to sell, it's shoes. While the majority of their clothing is slow to sell because it's in such plentiful supply, gently used men's shoes are always hot sellers. The bigger the better! Item: 1949 Printing of Taffy's Foal Paid Price: $.50 Sale Price: $19.95 Shipping: Buyer Paid Notes: On one of our first thrifting trips my wife grabbed this on the way past the book section. Neither of us were born yesterday (1946 isn't yesterday) but we hadn't heard of Taffy's Foal before. As we had both sold books on Amazon we looked it up quick and decided that for the price of 50 cents we couldn't really go wrong. However...it's has sat since then. When first listed at a price of $29.95 it had a watcher within minutes and then sat with nothing for months. We discounted it and finally got it on it's way to a new home!
